Cargo Cases


Designed for Pelican to provide the highest level of protection for gear and equipment during overlanding and outdoor adventure travel.

We conducted an immersive lifestyle survey to understand the mindset of the overland community. After careful analysis, we developed innovative features that addressed both the technical and emotional concerns of the community.

AIR Cases


In late 2014, Pelican approached us with a special project: to create a new line of ultra-protective, lightweight, and modernized waterproof cases. As outdoor enthusiasts and gearheads ourselves, we recognized the iconic status that Pelican cases had earned.

At the outset, we interviewed expert users and discovered that Pelican cases had become synonymous with professionalism. Originally designed for the open ocean, they were quickly adopted by photographers and adventurers as a badge of honor and proof of expertise. We proposed that the AIR cases should look unmistakably Pelican. Only upon closer inspection would users notice the technological refinements on every surface, completely refreshed components, and the distilled essence of the original icon transformed into a lighter, more modern case.

The cases exceeded the original sales target by more than 100 percent. All inventory of the Pelican AIR cases sold out quickly at launch. The extremely popular line continues to grow, expanding into new shapes and sizes to meet customer demand.

7070R Tactical Flashlight


Every surface and contour of the 7070R is designed to give first responders greater safety, accuracy, and reliability in operation. To quicken reaction time in low-light situations, we developed surfaces that support confident, blind operation.

Adaptation is essential for the unpredictable situations of first responders’ work. The added utility of dual buttons and programmable modes allows the flashlight to adapt to their needs.

The Pelican 7070R Flashlight is a high-tech, feature-packed tool designed specifically for the challenges faced by today’s first responders. Its capabilities include a Bluetooth-connected app for customizing lighting modes and performance, a wireless charging dock that keeps the flashlight ready for duty, and a durable physical design built for demanding environments.

The wireless charging dock also functions as a quick-release mounting cradle. It can be powered by USB or AC and installed in a car interior, on a desk, or on a wall. The car mount secures the flashlight even in the event of a crash, while wireless charging eliminates a potential point of water ingress.

Phone Cases


We designed a family of mobile device cases for Pelican that launched their entry into the consumer market. Over the following eight years, we continually evolved their phone case offerings.

The result was Pelican’s emergence as a lifestyle brand, no longer confined to specialty retailers.
