Sensor Mirrors

We led the industrial design of Simplehuman’s sensor-activated, illuminated vanity mirror family. The result was the most advanced makeup mirror available, featuring cutting-edge LED and sensor technology embedded in a simple, rational form.

Within its first two quarters on the market, the original Sensor Mirror became Simplehuman’s number-one selling SKU by revenue across its entire product line, including trash cans.

Since then, we have designed eight Sensor Mirrors, each with unique features and technologies, creating the most advanced makeup mirrors on the market.

The one that started it all.

Beginning in 2011, the Sensor Mirror underwent two and a half years of development, ultimately becoming the most advanced illuminated makeup mirror available. With cutting-edge LED light technology, distortion-free reflectivity, and automatic sensor operation, the first Sensor Mirror was truly ahead of its time.

Family Expansion

With the success of the first mirror, we collaborated with Simplehuman to quickly expand the line to include travel, detail, and wall-mounted mirrors.

Wide View Sensor Mirror

Next to join the family was the Wide View Sensor Mirror, the most sophisticated sensor mirror yet. See yourself in the best light with its proprietary Tru-Lux light system, which simulates natural sunlight to provide a bright and color-accurate view. It is also app-enabled, allowing you to capture the lighting around you and recreate it accurately in the mirror.

Trio and Trio Max

Our most recent mirrors created with Simplehuman, the Trio and Trio Max, represent the culmination of a decade of design and research focused on creating the ultimate beauty mirror. With multiple magnification options, crystal-clear optics, and precision color-control lighting, they provide an unparalleled view.

One side features 5x magnification for enhanced clarity and detail across your entire face. The other side offers a 1x mirror for a true-to-size view, along with a 10x magnification mirror that delivers an extreme close-up for precise detail.

The kinetic movement of the mirror was a major focus of the design. A magnetic catch gently pulls the mirror into place after it is rotated.
